Ingredients

To prepare this dish you will need these ingredients:

  • 2 cups of cactus cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup hydrated and chopped hibiscus flower
  • 1 tablespoon pureed chipotle chili
  • 60 gr. golden onion in thin strips
  • 1 piece of gourd tomato cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 grams of salt

Preparation

Once you have all the ingredients ready, you will have to continue with this simple preparation procedure.

  1. Heat a large comal or medium skillet until ready.
  2. Distribute the olive oil evenly over the pan to prevent the ingredients from sticking.
  3. Sauté the cactus julienne with salt until it is completely dry and free of slime. Stir constantly so it doesn’t burn.
  4. Add the onion julienne to change color.
  5. Add the tomato until it dries a little.
  6. Add the hibiscus and season with the chipotle chili and salt.
  7. Leave on very low heat, stirring constantly so that it does not burn for a few minutes.
  8. Serve accompanied by toast or tortilla chips. Now, enjoy this delicious snack that will give you a lot of fiber.
