If your most common choice is fast, packaged, canned or processed food, then what you are consuming is poison. Not only because of the harmful substances that these products contain, which are triggers of serious diseases such as cancer, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases and many more, but because you are also leaving your body without the defenses and basic nutrients it requires. *A large part of the diseases appear in the human body as a consequence of the ingestion of toxic substances from processed foods or the consumption of alcohol and tobacco. Another very important antioxidant is beta-carotene, present in brightly colored fruits and vegetables, such as papayas, mangoes, melons, carrots, broccoli, pumpkin, beets and spinach. *The antioxidant lycopene, found in pink and red fruits and vegetables, such as watermelon and tomatoes. Lutein, found in spinach, papayas and oranges; and selenium, present in cereals and some meats such as beef, fish, turkey and chicken.
