5 recycling tips for a greener life

Today we share some recycling tips to lead a greener life. Today more than ever it is important to be sustainable.

With every effort we make to live a “greener” life, we are truly making a difference in our environment.  We leave you a few recycling tips so that you too can join the movement 🙂

Recycling tips

** Give containers like cans, glass and plastics a second life An old trick but a good one. You can reuse cans, glass jars and plastic containers as utensil holders. You can also use glass containers as containers for dry ingredients, uncooked pasta, and other foods.  Keep plastic containers away from your food. ** Transform your empty containers into plastic bag dispensers If you have disposable plastic bags, store them by compacting them into an empty cylindrical container or box to save space. ** Reduce clutter by separating rarely used tools. Consider the 20/20 rule. If you can buy this same item new or semi-new for $20 or less and you can get it within 20 minutes or less of where you live, you can probably live without them. Or buy them again in a pinch. If you don’t need it in the next 6 months, it’s probably best to donate or recycle it! ** Wash your dishwasher with vinegar and baking soda It may seem unnecessary, but you should wash your dishwasher with a little natural detergent from time to time for maintenance. To give your dishwasher a good wash, place a cup of vinegar in your empty dishwasher and turn it on with the hottest water possible. Next, take the mug out of the dishwasher and coat the bottom of your appliance with a few tablespoons of baking soda. Turn the machine back on with the hottest water possible. **Heat your pans with salt Forget the dish detergent. Better, sprinkle the bottom of the skillet or saucepan with coarse salt. Then rub the salt with a paper towel. And then heat the pan over low heat to remove the moisture. Get rid of the salt afterwards, and you’re done.
