Be happy! Meditate to train the mind
In a world full of stress, like the one we live in, meditation can be our ally. Start meditating to improve your health.
Today is when we need to pay attention to our mind the most. And that just means spending some time on it. We live in the age of deadlines, immediacy, lack of time and a load of stress in everyday life, the likes of which have probably not been seen before. Being happy is a decision, but so that all the pressures we have daily do not eat us up, we have to train. Let me share with you what has helped me 🙂 The benefits of meditation are broad and you probably already know several. You have heard and read in many places about how good it is. Well, they are not wrong. Meditation has helped us as a species for hundreds of years to go beyond the stress that a neglected mind can generate. If you think you don’t have time to do it, then that’s your best sign that you need to do it! It doesn’t have to be an extensive super meditation, with a simple 10 minutes you have it and you don’t have to sit cross-legged either. You can be lying down, sitting in a chair or armchair or however you want. As long as you are comfortable and can concentrate comfortably. Meditating can have many purposes and you can choose the ones you want. It is very easy to get lost in all the information there is on the subject today. You can search for a more spiritual experience, address a problem or situation that requires you to think or simply calm down by calming your mind and finding a small moment of peace 🙂 Meditating helps:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- It has the ability to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for rest and repair).
- Gives clarity to your thoughts and promotes less mental clutter.
- Helps regulate high blood pressure.
- Helps improve sleep (making it more relaxed and deeper). How to meditate? Very simple
- Turn off your cell phone, TV, computer and make yourself comfortable, whether sitting, lying down, in a chair, etc.
- Close your eyes and breathe very deeply, hold your breath for a second or two and release the air.
- Try to focus exclusively on your breathing. If you can’t, don’t rush or be too hard on yourself. Counting your breaths helps you focus your attention. The intention of this very simple form of meditation is simply to relax and learn to focus your mind. This way you can enjoy all the benefits mentioned and little by little you will go deeper into your mind to know yourself better. Once you master this, in those 10 minutes and you deviate from your breathing, you will be able to learn to see your problems from another perspective because now you will control your emotions better.
