Children who eat fish sleep better!

New research revealed that children who eat fish at least once a week sleep better and have better IQ scores.

Just as it reads.  This is something very important if you are mom. New research revealed that children who eat fish at least once a week sleep better and have better IQ scores. At least 4 points higher, on average, than those who don’t. A group of 541 children between 9 and 11 years old in China were investigated. 54% were boys and 46% girls. And what they did was answer a questionnaire about how much they had eaten fish in the last month. At the same time, they also took the Chinese version of an IQ test called the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised, which examines verbal and non-verbal skills, such as vocabulary use and coding. In turn, their parents also answered questions about the quality of sleep their children were getting. This was through a questionnaire that included topics such as the duration of sleep their children had. The team found that children who reported eating fish weekly scored 4.8 points higher on the tests. Those who sometimes ate fish scored 3.3 points more. Additionally, the more fish they ate, the fewer sleep disturbances they had, which showed a better overall quality of sleep at bedtime. Obviously researchers now recommend adding fish to our diets. You can do it gradually. In fact, once a week is already considered “high” fish consumption according to the statistics of this study. In addition, there are many great recipes to integrate it into the family table 🙂
