Why does cheese have a bad reputation? It’s probably because it’s delicious, in fact it should be illegal. When have you heard that something delicious can be beneficial for your health? Find out that cheese can be part of a well-balanced diet and can even be included daily at breakfast or dinner. The secret is to consume them in moderation and have varieties or types of cheese on hand that adapt and complement your dietary program.
The best companion
Cheese can be the best companion, plus it works as a flavor enhancer. Include it between two slices of whole wheat bread or with a piece of fruit such as an apple or pear. It is a great source of calcium, fatty acids and proteins. Recommended types: Brie, Edam, Manchego or Valençay.
Control your saturated fat intake
Most health-conscious people are calorie conscious, but when it comes to eating a serving of cheese they focus their attention on the amount of fat. According to the American Heart Association, only 5 to 6 percent of daily calories should come from saturated fat, about 12 to 13 grams per day. Which means, if you’re getting more saturated fat from other sources you may need to limit your cheese consumption.
Select portions
