Are you going to travel? We present five health tips for your trips.

Traveling is something that many of us long for. When we get the chance, we usually look forward to the trip, as long as it’s a vacation. When it’s for work, it doesn’t necessarily involve the same level of emotion. Be that as it may, traveling constantly, as strange as it may sound, can cause various havoc to the body. Traveling is disorganizing our daily cycle, depending on where you go, you can experience the ravages of lack of oxygen, humidity and changes in pressure. At this time of year when many of us go on a trip, I bring you some great tips to take into account so that you can enjoy your trip to the fullest. 1. Stay hydrated When you fly at high altitudes, the air inside a plane contains 66 percent less water than at sea level. This easily turns into a dry mouth, eyes and nose, headaches, dizziness, etc. To avoid dehydration, drink plenty of water before flying and throughout your trip. 2. Pack your own food Support your immune system and make sure you eat nutritious foods to avoid infections and other common illnesses when traveling. Food you can take with you can be fresh fruits and vegetables, raw nuts and seeds, quinoa salad, homemade sushi, flaxseed crackers with almond or avocado butter, or energy bars. 3. Protect your ears The pressure inside the cabin fluctuates during the trip and more so during takeoff and landing. Try swallowing, yawning, or holding an ice cube in your mouth. If you have severe discomfort, you can also purchase pressure-regulating earplugs. 4. Keep moving Deep vein thrombosis is a blood clot that forms in the legs as a result of poor circulation, low air pressure, dehydration, and poor movement. Avoid this problem by simply staying hydrated and moving as much as you can. 5. Breathe and meditate You can do all or almost all breathing exercises anywhere and anytime. Try to take 4-5 deep breaths, holding your breath and then exhaling slowly. Mediation can also help relieve stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that mediation during takeoff and landing can be effective in easing those nerves. Listening to soft music or a guided meditation is a great way to relax your brain and help you feel calm and centered throughout your trip.
